About Sally ~ 5yr Old Kelpie X(On Trial 11/02/21)
Meet Sally, 5-year-old Kelpie x This lovely girl is truly so sweet and gentle and will make a beautiful friend to whoever adopts her. Sally is initially timid and wary of new people however once she gets to know you, she will give you so much love.
Sally knows her basic commands but will need patience as she continues to progress with her training. Sally is eager to please and highly motivated by food, so it will not take her long. Sally loves her daily walk but is otherwise low maintenance energy-wise and may suit a small yard as long as she has a safe, quiet place to retire (she currently loves chilling under the deck). We do encourage crate training to allow that area of safe relax space within the home. Sally would benefit greatly from learning where her relax space is in her new home.
Sally is fairly independent and will happily retreat to the backyard with her bone while her foster mum is at work or out and about. Sally has shown no interest or inclination to jump fences or attempt to escape the yard.
Sally sleeps inside of a night and has access to outside through a sliding door that is left slightly open so she can go to the bathroom. A doggy door would also be a great option for Sally is she is trained how to use one.
Although Sally is a friendly, loyal and affectionate girl once she gets to know you, she is a bit anxious to begin with and will require a calm and patient household, ideally with no other dogs or small children to bring out her best. We don’t know Sally’s history, but she is very wary of males and does not like when males touch her stomach and will get scared and panic. Sally’s ideal home would be a female only
household or a household with a female and gentle male where her humans are willing to accept her quirks and who will take the time to earn this sweet girl’s trust.
If you feel that you can offer Sally a patient and loving home, you can contact Samantha on samantha.jane.drn@gmail.com
You can also submit an adoption questionnaire at https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt.
Sally is located at Carrington NSW (suburb of Newcastle NSW). Her adoption fee is $350 which includes desexing, microchip and vaccinations. Sally is up to date with all worming and flea treatments and is a happy healthy girl ready to find her forever home.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
