Hi! My name is Penny, and I’m looking for my fur-ever home. I am full of life and love. I’m a very excitable pup, and absolutely love doing anything I can with you. I am a big baby and if you look into my eyes you’ll likely fall in love. I love walkies and running around the yard with you. I am a pro at playing fetch. Going to the dog park is one of my favourite activities.
I know how to sit, lie down, and can be easily trained to stay out of places like the kitchen. I learn reasonably quickly but being a puppy, I feel the need to test the boundaries.
I am extremely food motivated. I love anything you’ll give me, but my absolute favourite is a bone to chew on. I have a treat ball, and love Kongs. Because I love my food so much, I tend to guard my food, and it’s best I have a separate place from other animals to eat my food, and especially treats.
I don’t have much experience with children, and I may be a boisterous with them in excitement. I won’t mean any harm; I’ll just be super excited.
I live with another dog, a medium-sized American staffy and we are best friends, despite a 2+ years age gap. We run around the yard together and sometimes sleep together. I also live with a cat, who I love, but can intimidate sometimes because I’m so bouncy; the cat and I are good friends.
I am being trained to walk loose-lead, but until I learn some more, I’ll need someone who can handle my excitement. I get very excited when I see other dogs and am learning that I can’t play with every dog I meet.
I come when called most of the time, I love to please my humans. I sleep in my crate overnight, but during the day I can go in and out as I please. I am very adaptable, so the yard doesn’t have to be massive. But the more space you have for me to bounce around in, the better. I currently live in a house with fences approx. 1.5m (5ft) high and have not escaped.
I have a habit of eating out of the litter box and tend to bark at passersby. If I am told to sit on my bed, I will stop barking and go settle down.
If I’m super super excited I can sound a bit like Chewbacca. I have springs on my feet, so I tend to bounce up and down when you come home. Fun fact: I also really like Kale, not the stem but the leaves. That said, I like pretty much all food.
I’m a sweet, loving girl and can’t wait for my fur-ever home. My ideal family would be patient and cheerful as I blossom into your dream dog, learning your ways and becoming your new family member.
