About Maggie
We would love to introduce you to the gorgeous Maggie. Maggie is a Bull Arab x Ridgeback x Love Bug, and in search of the perfect place to call her forever home.
Maggie has immediately proven to be a sweet, kind and cuddly girl.
She is an absolute pleasure to have in the home due to her lovely manners and gentle nature. She is never too far away and likes to check in with you regularly, especially if it involves a cuddle or face rub.
Maggie is instinctively loving, gentle, intelligent and very keen to learn. She is bright as a button and an extremely fast learner. Maggie has picked up hand signals quickly and is very easy to communicate with through touch, facial expression and sign language. Maggie isn’t disadvantaged or hindered by her deafness in any way, and it certainly doesn’t get in the way of her being the bouncy, happy, inquisitive & intelligent girl she is.
Maggie is house trained, has beautiful manners around food and happily sleeps through the night in her own bed inside the home. Maggie loves play time with her dog friends and toys, and will happily play all day. Maggie does need some guidance and training as she can be a little strong on leash, and excitable when meeting new doggy friends, but given her willingness to learn and her sunny disposition, we feel she will continue to improve in leaps and bounds, as she has done with all new tasks. Maggie loves to use her Bull Arab nose to stop and smell the roses, and appreciates long sniffy walks daily. She regularly spends time off leash on beach walks, bush walks and out camping, and provided she is given the proper supervision and guidance, she is well behaved and knows to stay nearby where she is in sight of you.
Maggie is medium sized (around the 30kg mark), has the most stunning eyes and the sweetest little ginger freckles on her ears that will just melt your heart.
Maggie is affectionate, cheeky, brave, outgoing, loyal and confident - an infectiously happy girl full of personality, looking for a very special home to call her own.
MAGGIES ADOPTION CRITERIA
** Please ensure you meet all requirements prior to applying or enquiring
A forever family that will include her as a loved family member and provide her with both the physical and mental enrichment she needs to be happy. This includes being both an inside and outside dog in a home where she will be welcome to snuggle on the couch - she will mostly want to be where you are. Sleeping inside at night near her family is non negotiable.
Maggie is an active girl and will need 1 – 1.5 hours of exercise each day, along with continued training and socialisation, and provided with mental enrichment in between periods of rest and play at home.
Maggie loves the company of other dogs and her new home must have another doggy family member(s). Maggie has met ducks, chooks, horses, alpacas and a grumpy old cat, but is still very much in the introductory stage of learning to live with her woolly, hairy and feathered friends, and requires supervision at all times whilst her training is furthered.
Maggie is a companion dog who prefers to spend her time with her people and doggy friends. While she is of course happy to occupy herself for a few short hours at a time, long periods on her own is not desirable. Her ideal home would have someone home the majority of the time as she mostly likes to be where you are, and makes an excellent offsider for all daily activities.
A home on acreage, with room to move and sniff to her hearts content. Maggie came from a country town and is used to a quieter way of life. An inner city or suburban home in a busy area is not the best fit for this beautiful girl. For a suburban home to be considered, Maggie will need a very large, well fenced yard with an active household where Maggie is included in all daily activities alongside you.
