About Zeus ~ 3 yr Rottweiler ~ On Trial 16/7/20
Meet Zeus , a 3 year old Rottweiler who is big and beautiful and thinks he’s a person. If you love the Rotti breed then you’re going to love this big chunky boy.
Zeus is a bit of a clown - he loves attention and treats so training time is fun and rewarding for both you and him. He is a big boy so we are looking for a home where all family members are confident with large and exuberant big dogs. When out on lead he gets overly excited so he needs training. He is very excited and strong when seeing other dogs so he has been trained to walk with a muzzle on. Muzzle training has been a great training tool for meeting other dogs and vet visits for Zeus. With confident new owners, consistent training and positive socialisation we anticipate the he will get better with other dogs over time. He’s definitely not a dog-park or off-lead dog.
Zeus is currently living with a male staffy, a Rotti and a shihtzu. He and the staffy don’t like each other at all so they need to be separated at all times - he isn’t a fan of excitable dogs being in his face. He is good with his Rotti and Shih Tzu yard mates but he was raised with them so they are known.
Zeus is best suited as a single dog where his training and continued socialisation can be the focus of your attention. We are looking for a family who is experienced in Rottweiler ownership - so please only apply for Zeus if you have had Rotti’s previously.
Zeus would love a grassy yard to play and chill out in . He can dig out of the yard so his new family must have secure fencing and it must be dig-proof. In his current home he has dug to freedom and had nuisance complaints made to the rangers so our fencing requirements for Zeus are quite specific.
Because he loves people so much he’ll need to be allowed inside whenever his family are home. He is quite fluffy so he’ll need a family who aren’t concerned about his hair on their furniture. Zeus doesn’t like cats - so he won’t suit a home with cats, pocket pets or chickens. Zeus likes kids but we are after a home with no children under 15 years old So that his training can be the focus. He would suit large breed dog-lovers whose kids are already grown and left the nest .
Zeus loves squeaky toys - he will play with them all day to keep himself entertained. His favourite toy is a squeaky pig that he will bring to you to throw - after a few throws he likes to just chill out with you so he’s definitely not a high stamina boy!
