About Blue2
We received a call from Blue's best friends owner asking whether we would be able to take two dogs, Karma and Blue as they could not look after them anymore and they kept getting out. We said yes we would and organised to pick them up the following Monday. On Monday we received a call to say they were in the pound and they could not get them out until they had got there benefit payment on Wednesday. On Tuesday another call saying would we be able to get them out, we organised a foster carer to do so. We were also told on Monday that Karma was on heat and Blue had got to her. We have in the meantime taken Blue to the vet to get him desexed, immunised, heartworm tested, and have treated him for fleas, worms, heart worm and ticks. Blue is called Blue because he is actually a red and cream border collie, he has a lovely nature, can be stubborn, is very playful and smart. He is fine with people and some other dogs. He loves to run and play in our back paddock so needs and active family with time and space preferably with another dog who is female or as an only dog. He is extremely smart and wants to please so would be idea for any of the dog sports such as obedience, agility, herding, tracking, scent work etc. 982000410603164
Adoption details
HappyPaws Haven is fussy about who adopts these animals and where they are housed and cared for. The adoption criteria is documented as a questionnaire and strictly adhered to. We do not adopt animals to people who rent unless they are long term rental at the same address and have landlords written permission.
We ask if they have thought about the attributes they want in a dog, lifestyle, childrens ages, prepared to train, etc. We also talk about responsible pet ownership, fully fenced yards, hours unattended etc. and finally a vet reference.
