About Indigo ~ 3mo black kitten (on trial 4/6/20)
Indigo is a 3-4 month old, beautifully shiny male black kitten. His sister Scarlett is black with a tiny white spot. Even the vet commented on how stunning their coats were!
These sweet babies came into care after being found on the street with their pregnant mother and 3 other siblings.
Their sisters; Sabrina, Zelda and Hilda were recently adopted into families who absolutely adore them. Indigo and Scarlett were found a week later, at around 12 weeks of age. Now it’s their turn to find a warm, loving forever home.
After being in care for only two weeks, they have changed from scared skinny babies, into charming little purr machines. Their foster carer is very, very proud of them!
Indigo is the more confident of the two and will run to greet you for a pat and some attention. Scarlett is a little more hesitant at first, but always ends up joining in.
Both love a scratch around the shoulders and along the back - and will reward you with licks galore! It’s really adorable how they groom every human they meet.
With a little bit of patience and continues desensitisation to new experiences, these two will blossom into confident cats.
Both kittens have found a new love for playing with toys. They’re always purring, and love their food! Oh boy do they love food!
Scarlett gets a lot of confidence from her brother, so we would love for them to be adopted together if possible.
However, if you are looking for a single kitten, Scarlett would better suit a home with an existing cat, or an experienced cat owner who is home more often than not, to continue to nurture her confidence.
Both kittens are completely cat-friendly, forming a beautiful friendship with another DRN foster cat, Bella. They would provide wonderful company to an existing cat or cats.
Scarlett and Indigo are currently in care with a small dog - who they have not met face to face, but have been exposed to his smells and sounds - we believe they would be okay in a household with a calmer, cat-friendly dog, after a gradual introduction.
Although it may take some time to fully come out of their shells, Scarlett and Indigo are charming little cats who will make great companions. Their foster carer is very fond of them. They have already come so far in such a short amount of time, and have learnt to trust and love humans.
They would be better suited to a home with children over the age of 5, who can be gentle and caring towards them.
Indigo and Scarlett are available for adoption to an indoor-only home. Their adoption fee is $250 for one kitten, or $400 for both.
Scarlett and Indigo are in foster care in Waratah, NSW. They will be vaccinated, microchipped and desexed which is all included in the adoption fee.
