Due to the large number of enquiries we're expecting for Jelly Bean please read carefully and include some information about yourself and what you will be able to offer her in your enquiry.
Jelly Bean
Who doesn't love a Jelly Bean?!
This beautiful little girl is dachsund x maltese, and what she lacks in height, she well and truly makes up for in personality.
At over 10 years of age, she is in wonderful health,
She pulls a lot on the lead, very keen to feel like she's independent so she gets walked on a long rope but that only really works in the bush.
She's definitely too energetic for anyone not able to handle her crazy jumping/barking excitement and she really benefits from the long walks we've been taking.
She is used to living in a quiet area and does bark in busy environments so will only be suited to a quiet area without too many people or other dogs passing by, unfortunately she won't suit apartment or unit living.
She doesn't like being picked up but she tolerates it, she does not like being brushed but her carer has been working on that and there's been some improvement, visits to a groomer may be best.
She does have the beginnings of arthritis in her hind legs but this does nothing to hamper her energy, some arthritis treatment will be necessary to help keep her as comfortable and active as possible into her later years.
She loves a good bush walk, but must be kept on a lead as she is also a runner and will chase anything that moves.
The perfect home for Jelly Bean would require someone to be home most if not all of the day, she can get quite anxious when left alone.
*Her new home must also not have cats or any other small animals*
She would be better suited as an only dog.
Jelly Bean can get quite loud and excited when meeting people but calms down quickly. She also travels well, although chatty, but does not like to be left in the car. She is fine with children and very good at letting you know when she's had enough.
Located in the Castlemaine region.
Medical notes
Jelly Bean has the beginning of arthritis in her back legs and she will need medication to keep her active and comfortable in her later years.
We are happy to discuss further with suitable applicants.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
