About 🥬Bok Choy🥬

Mid last year we rescued 6-year-old Persian, Bok Choy from one of our pound partners. Bok came into care with a nasty eye ulcer and initially we feared this would need specialist surgery to save her eyesight and potentially her eye. Thankfully for Miss Choy though, we were able to bring her eye back from the brink without surgery, though it did take several months, more vet checks than I care to count and almost militant monitoring and treatment from her foster mum!
Like literally everyone who meets her (me included!) her foster parents had instantly fallen madly in love with Bok and although she had originally moved to them because she didn’t seem comfortable with feline numbers at HQ (otherwise she would 100% be a Perma-Squishy right now!), they hoped she would be willing to co-exist with their two cat residents. Try as they might though, Miss Choy’s one and only vice - her erratic and aggressive behaviour towards other cats could not be curbed and they were forced to accept defeat. ☹
Just as we were about to list Bok as needing a single pet home, one of our extended Squishy family members, met and (you guessed it) fell instantly and utterly in love with her! Being that Bok’s first foster family’s existing cats are; and I say this with love, a bit NQR 😝 we decided that since she had gone long periods between violent outbursts with them, perhaps just one “normal” cat wouldn’t be enough to get up her squishy little nose! Off she went on trial with everyone’s fingers crossed!
Alas, Bok decided that only having one other cat to be perpetually perturbed by, freed up a lot more of her time to come up with new and unpleasant ways to express her disdain to her beleaguered feline faux friend. 😳
And so here we are, finally bending to the will of The Bok and beginning the search for a BREED EXPERIENCED, BUT CURRENTLY PET FREE HOME IN VICTORIA! In time, if you work hard and please her, she may allow you to consider a small, calm dog; but you must be willing for her to be your one and only pet/employer for the rest of her days if she decides against allowing you to adopt her an assistance dog! 😉
Bok Choy is genuinely a once in a lifetime Persian! With the exception of some clouding on her ulcerated eye, (this will need to be monitored and may flare up occasionally needing a few days of ointment, though she’s currently months out from last needing this) Bok’s health is exceptional, her eyes and airways are fantastic and although she doesn’t require a huge amount of it, she effortlessly accepts all forms of grooming, medicating, face cleaning, etc. She is calm, but playful, an affectionate smoocher, but able to chill on her own, her manners are impeccable, her coat is a joy – she really is the complete package!

Medical notes
Bok Choy came into care with an untreated eye ulcer. Our vets are very happy with the recovery and don't believe it will need more than the occasional course of ointment, but as with all Brachy cats, there's always a chance of ulcerations requiring surgery.
Bok is desexed, microchipped, parasite treated, current in vaccinations, professionally groomed and comes with all of her ulcer treatment history.
