About Mickey - The Marvellous
SPECIAL NEEDS: Mickey was a stray who was taken from the streets for routine desexing. After his operation Mickey was lethargic and we knew something was wrong. He returned to the vet where it was discovered he had a blood clotting disorder and required a transfusion. Before this took place Mickey flatlined, twice!
Fortunately, he returned to us and the transfusion was a success but not without issue. Mickey lost his sight. The vet believes it may return and we have seen him definitely show signs it has. He knows where
everything is and can chase his ball and remember or see where it is😊You'd never know he was vision impaired. He gets stronger and funnier each day.
His carer is used to him following her about wherever she goes and he is jubilant when she returns home, greeting her at the door. Mickey has the hugest eyes and the shiniest raven coloured coat that feels like satin to touch.
When your bingeing on Netflix, this cat will lie on your blanket with you, adoring any attention.
Mickey uses the shower to go to the toilet. His carer keeps a small pee pad in there and that is his place to go. We have tried various litter brands, including dirt, but he is not interested. That may change but for now, the shower is the place to go. It's not a bad thing as it saves on litter and cleaning.
Mickey has had access to an enclosed courtyard during his foster care. He is still easily spooked when strangers visit and would suit a home with people who understand and appreciate his unique qualities and are home often.
This is a really devoted cat who is happy to enjoy the life he didn't lose.
We are looking for a permanent home where he will be adored.
Medical notes
Blood clotting disorder. No medication required.
