About Beau ~ 7mo Kelpie x Cattle (On Trial 30/05/20)
Hi, I’m Beau! I’m a 7 month old Kelpie x Cattle boy. I love nothing more than spending time with you and cuddling on the couch.
I’ve had a rough start to life and so have a few requirements from my new family to ensure that we’ll definitely be a perfect fit for each other. I need someone who is experienced with dogs and will be patient with me while I’m getting used to my new home. I haven’t had a huge amount of socialisation, but the few dogs I have met I have been super excited and playful around.
My ideal forever home is one where I’m included as a member of the family, and one who doesn’t mind me joining them on the couch for cuddles. I love being around my humans and being involved in family life. I would get along better with a young dog because I am high energy and may be too much for an older dog. If I am to have a new brother or sister in my new home, we’d need to have a few meetings to make sure we’re going to get along well although I’m sure I’ll love them.
My foster family currently house 2 cats, 2 birds and a dog and I've gotten along with them all well. I have chased the cats a couple of times but they teach me quickly not to do that.
I have the basics down pat: I can sit, stay, drop and I wait very patiently for my dinner. I’m very treat motivated so would learn more skills easily if you wanted me to. Daily walks are a must as I have a lot of energy. When on walks I know to walk close and not to pull although if someone walks me and my foster mum walks off I may pull to catch up. I have had some recall training and I love chasing a ball or any toy at the park!!
I am not food aggressive towards people although I have growled at dogs around food before. I’m doing a lot better now and I’m learning they're not going to hurt me or take my food so now I rarely growl. I wouldn’t recommend me around small children since I do like to jump up and gives lots of kisses and I would hate to accidentally hurt anyone.
I prefer to have you home all the time. If you have to work away from home a lot, a friendly sibling would be a must! I’m not destructive though I have been known to go through the bin. Lots of toys and stuffed kongs are awesome to keep me busy or I'll steal your scraps.
With the right family, I will be a very loving and loyal dog. If you think you’ll be the right fit for me, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with my foster carer.
I am currently in care in Raymond Terrace, NSW. For more information, email Rachael at rachael.godfreybc@gmail.com or you can fill out the adoption form online at https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
My adoption fee is $500 and I am desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
