About Matthias
According to my foster mums in a ‘gift of god’ that’s how I got my name “Matthias” and I think I am definitely one!
I arrived from the pound as a timid and skinny boy and my foster mums have done a great job of fattening me up!
I am still putting on weight and am going to be a big boy but actually am really a couch potato at heart and I like to sleep a lot. I enjoy sitting on the dog bed next to you and cuddling up and watching TV! I especially love tummy rubs for which I will turn on my back for more. I am only 2 years old so I enjoy playing and curious of new stuffs especially soft toys
I am a gentleman who knows my manners too, I take food very gently from your hand but can be jumpy at the moment when I am excited but I think that can be fixed with training, I am slowly learning this is not acceptable so probably better off in a home with adults or OLDER CHILDREN
I get a little nervous on my own so will need to go to a home with someone home more often then not and a doggy friend would also be great and preferred.
I am currently in care with a foster sister(a 6 months old puppy) and she is doing a very good job in teaching me the house rules and manners
I will need continuous obedience and confidence building training, I know sit, drop and wait...
Please bear in mind that I was fostered during the state restriction so my foster family are unable to work on walking on leash with me. I pull badly on leash but I do well on head halter.
I am crate trained and I love my crate, it is my safe space. I also love outdoor kennel or a bed for sunny days to just hang out there with my future new siblings but I need to be an inside dog
I am also toilet trained and I will let you know by standing at the door if I need to go.
