About Taz
My name is Taz, I’m pretty and as loyal as can be.
I’m smart, playful, love the beach, walks, toys & cosy beds. I am house trained & know basic commands.
I would prefer to be an only dog although might be alright with another quiet dog.
My experience with small children hasn’t been pleasant so I’m only suited with very gentle children over the age of 10 please.
Take note that toddlers are not for me.
I’ve been on a successful weight loss journey since arriving in my foster home. I was very obese & this was putting too much strain on me & making me very uncomfortable. I’ve lost a good amount of weight but my new family will need to continue my journey and help me to maintain my new and improved waist.
I have to be honest, I inhale my food so use a slow feeder bowl. Please do not give me dental treats unless you can sit and hold them while I gnaw. Bones are a definite no for me.
If you fit the criteria, are gentle, patient, fun & loving them please put an application in for me.
Medical notes
When Taz first came into our care, she was quite overweight. This was causing her patella to luxate in her right hind leg, and she was also experiencing some back pain and was at risk of developing disk disease in her spine, but since her weight loss she has shown no signs of pain and this doesn’t effect her running around and going for walks. We would however recommend she stay on a joint support supplement such as Paws Osteocare for life, and it is important that she maintains a healthy weight and has regular vet check ups.
It should also be noted that Taz becomes fear aggressive at the vet, but she has been muzzle trained to make vet visits easier. She is not aggressive on any other occasions.
Taz recently had a dental scale and polish and was fortunate enough to not require any extractions.
Taz is up to date with her C5 vaccination and flea, tick, intestinal worms and heart worm prevention.
