About Lia
Miss Lia is a 6 year old dilute torti British Shorthair who has been in care for over 6 months working with a number of foster carers, on several issues she came into care with.
Lia is now looking for a very special forever home, that will accept her for who she is and continue to nurture who she’s striving to become. Due to her previous life, Lia has trust issues and at times struggles with impulse control. She has made amazing progress with this, but will still need someone committed to helping her settle into her new home and who won’t take it personally if she occasionally forgets her manners, by way of a swipe, if over stimulated, or trying to communicate inappropriately.
At her heart, Lia just wants to be someone’s constant companion and best friend. She loves affection and play time; she just needs someone that is experienced with slightly temperamental cats and who can recognise the signs of over stimulation/agitation.
Lia would do best as an only cat, but she has co-existed with one, respectful cat while in foster care.
All she really needs is for someone to give her the chance to settle at her own pace. She will reward your patience by showing you what a lovely girl she is, when she is in a trusting environment.
If you think you’re up to the “Lia Challenge” and are committed to giving her the time she needs to adjust, please complete an foster or adoption questionnaire on the website.
Lia is in care in Werribee
Medical notes
Lia goes to her new home desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and parasite treated.
Lia can occasionally get constipated, but this is easily managed with the correct food/grooming.
