About Black Beauty Jedda
Introducing JEDDA, our black beauty (short hair, female) looking for her forever home. We always have the most difficulty getting our black kitties adopted, whether it's superstition or preference, who knows. We know its silly - black kitties are just as beautiful and loving as the rest, and Jedda is certainly special.
Jedda was born on the street, and somehow always found a way to elude our traps - just too smart for her own good! Sadly, she was attacked and is now FIV positive (more info on that later). She had a litter of kittens and then, finally, our carer was able to catch her! Off to the vet she went to be neutered so she would never have to fall pregnant and raise a litter on the streets again.
Jedda was planned to be a TNR (trap, neuter & release) back to the streets, but on release day she jumped into the arms of her carer and snuggled in tight. It was clear she didn't want to struggle anymore. Jedda has since been in foster care and loving the perks of a safe life indoors. She knows her name, comes running when called, and is a snugglepot in bed. She has such a sweet personality.
We think it best that Jedda's forever home is quiet, with no young children (but older settled children are fine) and that she is the only cat. She wants you alllllll to herself! If you think you might be able to help, send us a message.
Medical notes
Please note that Jedda is FIV positive. Most people believe disease progression is like human HIV, however FIV only goes to AIDS in 5% of cases, meaning 19/20 cats with FIV will likely die of old age before they die of anything FIV related (provided they are well cared for). Many people worry about it spreading to their own cats, but there has never been a single documented case of it spreading via casual contact. Most of the stigma surrounding FIV is actually accurate for FeLV, but not for FIV. Please don't be afraid to adopt an FIV cat, they need loving homes too!
Our cats come desexed, vaccinated (1st F3 & booster), microchipped, FIV & FELV negative and will have up to date worm and flea treatments. They will need to be lifetime registered which is a $55 once off fee. This is compulsory in NSW. Please note their age in this ad is an estimate only. They are rescue cats and their foster parents do not know their precise age or family history and cannot guarantee their future health.
