About Pal Ivarsson - checking out his new home!
For foster or adoption..
Poor Pal Ivarson is a good boy who, at 12 years of age, has found himself without a home through absolutely no fault of his own. He is devoted to his people and doesn’t understand why his world has changed.
Pal has a very sweet and soft natured temperament. He loves affection and human touch, and always wants to be a part of the gang. Pal is great in the car and loves going for road trips. He loves to be included on adventures, like to the local cafe for brunch so he can sniff around and meet other local canine friends. He is great company and doesn't demand much from you, wanting only love, affection, and a warm, cosy bed to sleep indoors with his humans.
Pal would be best suited as an only-dog because, as a senior, he can be a bit set in his ways. He does, however, also enjoy making new doggy friends at the park and loves to run and play off the lead, where he always comes back to you. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by cats or other animals. He adores his daily exercise and walks happily on the lead, but he’s also typical of his breed and has that stubborn beagle streak where he sometimes wants to decide where to go next. Pal can get distracted if something else interests him, and just needs a firm reminder of who’s boss. Otherwise, he's a very relaxed and low maintenance guy, and is content on his own during the day as long as he has space to sniff and explore. He can be a bit shy around strangers to begin with but has never shown signs of aggression. He knows some basic commands and can sit and shake for food – especially liver treats, his absolute favourite. He loves being patted, and is a popular dog in the neighbourhood.
Pal is a loveable and gentle soul who deserves a loving home to once again call his own. Are you the special person to help heal his heart?
Thank you to Heather of Dixon Dog Photography for the fantastic photos of Pal.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
