About Roxy ~ Staffy, senior girl (On Trial 14/2/20)
Roxy is your typical English staffy and she is in desperate need (BEFORE the 31st January) of a new home. Due to changes in her circumstances, Dog Rescue Newcastle are desperately trying to find them a new home before it’s too late.
Even though we are pressed for time, only the right applications will be considered, so please be genuine in your offer.
Roxy is approximately 9 years old and is very lovable. She still has a fair amount of energy for a mature girl and craves human attention, jumping up and bouncing around for a pat and a cuddle.
Even though Roxy has good energy, she is showing signs of age but has been given the all clear by a vet. Occasionally, one of her back legs will give way and she just needs a moment to gather herself. It certainly doesn’t seem to be limiting her. Roxy’s new owner will need to be on board with the possibility of giving her regular medication to assist with her mobility.
Roxy is great around children, but because of her energy, she might bump a little one over, so supervision is needed here.
Roxy previously lived with another dog and can have a canine companion again, but she'll need to meet any potential new housemates first of course. She will also be fine as an only dog.
Roxy has been an outside dog and not housetrained as yet, but with a bit of guidance and patience, it wouldn’t take long for her to learn. If she is to remain as outside dog, she still needs to be a part of the family and have plenty of time with people.
Roxy is really a lovable, happy dog and we would love nothing more than to find her a new home so she can live her life to the fullest and not have it cut short because of unfortunate circumstances.
If you are genuinely interested, either to foster or to adopt, please email Olivia at horvat13@gmail.com. Roxy is currently located near Kurri Kurri, Hunter Valley, NSW.
Roxy’s adoption fee is $100. She is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and wormed and microchipped.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
