About Abbie ๐ธ
This cheeky and confident girl is Abbie, our 11 week old Wolfhound mix ๐
She is currently in care with 1 of her siblings, living with 2 host dogs & 2 host cats and also young children. Abbie is the leader of the pack....She is more dominant and outgoing than her brother Alfie, but very sweet natured. She would most definitely benefit from having another dog in her forever home. She gets super excited when meeting new people and would be best in a home with older, or more confident children. Abbie is an active pup and will need plenty of enrichment toys, exercise and mental stimulation to keep her mind busy. Whilst she has met the cats in her foster home, she does love to chase, so a home without cats, or dog savvy cats would be best.
Abbie is doing well with toilet training, now heading outside to do her business. This is something that will need to be continued in her new home. She gets along well with her host dogs and siblings, and loves a good game of Tug-o-war in the backyard.
We would love to see Abbie find a home where she had the company and guidance of another dog and experienced dog owners. She is very trainable and settled nicely into her foster home. She has the 'Puppy dog eyes' mastered and will win you over in a heartbeat!
At this stage, we think Abbie will be a large dog when fully grown, so you would need to be prepared for this. She will need a medium to large size yard with height appropriate fencing, and a home where she will be treated as part of the family ๐จโ๐จโ๐งโ๐ง๐๐ Abbie has some springs in those legs and proving to be a good jumper, so will need secure fencing.
As with all our pups, we strongly recommend enrolling in Puppy school. Abbie will need continued socialisation with other dogs during the puppy stage and into adulthood, as well as ongoing training so that she grows up to be a well mannered and socialised girl.
We would love to help get you started with training, so our amazing supporters, Best Friends - Erina, have kindly offered to include a 5 week Puppy training course with all of our Puppy adoptions (up to 16wks of age)....The Best Friends Puppy Pre-School service is a fun and interactive five-week training course that covers puppy behaviours, diet, health, grooming, exercise and play, with an emphasis on socialisation, command training, health and care. Their aim is to teach you positive ways to train your puppy in basic skills such as โsitโ, โdropโ, โstayโ, and how to walk well on a lead, but also how to control your puppyโs not so desirable behaviours like toileting inside, biting, mouthing and separation anxiety.
Abbie has now had all her vet work done, and ready to head off to her forever home. She is located in Gwandalan on the Central Coast NSW.

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
