About Summer
The TERRIFIC two’s!
One of the younger pups in our care, sweet two year old girl Summer is full of beans! She loves to run and play and if she doesn’t have a doggy pal to play with she needs her human buddies to keep her occupied. She likes to play, cuddle, run, zoom and like a typical two year old, you can almost hear her saying ‘watch me!'
When not playing with you or her toys, cuddling on the couch is the next best thing in the world, and Summer gives the best snuggles! She’s a bit of a shadow pup and likes to be involved in what you are doing, but it’s just because she loves her humans so very much. Although Summer is an active and playful girl, her energy levels are pretty typical for a younger dog, getting in lots of snoozes and naps is still a must. She is a greyhound after all.
Summer loves going for walks and is learning to walk nicely on leash. She also loves going in the car and visiting new places, the world is hers to explore!
Summer is good with other dogs and would prefer to have a canine companion for company, especially one who also likes to play. However, Summer’s perfect canine companion needs to be one with lots of patience because she's still learning not to be bossy when it comes to wanting to play or snuggle. Over time and with training, she will learn better boundaries in her new home, but she would not suit a dog who is protective of space or who likes to be left alone most of the time. She’s just a young hound who likes to have fun.
Summer is not suited to living in an apartment or small space, a yard with at least enough room to chase a toy or do zoomies is a must. If her humans are FT workers, it is a MUST that she has a doggy companion. She will benefit from a home where her humans have time for lots of games and training with her, as she loves to be the centre of attention.
Summer would not suit a home with very young children as although she loves everybody, she is a bit too boisterous and could easily knock the little ones over.
