About Freddy
Freddy is a happy and healthy older man. He moves quite well, but may be a little deaf (or is that selective hearing?). He has a funny husky old man bark.
Freddy is 'his own person', and would be very happy in a home with someone who works long hours - as long as you don't forget a meal! Once you pick Freddy up, though, he cuddles into you like you are the best place on the planet.
Freddy has lived most of his life as a kennel dog, so he is not toilet trained - however, while in the kennels here, he has improved in keeping his bedroom clean.
As a 'kennel dog', Freddy will need an understanding home that will accept some toileting accidents and that Freddy may need time to adjust to living in a normal pet home. (Things like vacuum cleaners and washing machines can be scary to dogs that are not used to a home environment.)
Freddy is available for interstate adoption only after he has had a meet-and-greet with potential adopters. (That is, they will not be available interstate to 'sight unseen' adopters.) As a terrier, it is also important for Freddy to meet any dogs that he may be expected to live his new life with.
Freddy is suitable to a home with another dog.
We have not tested him with children, but imagine he would be okay.
Freddy tested well with a cat.
Enquiries are welcome through Tegan between 8am and 8pm - 0421 506 482.
Freddy's adoption fee is $100. Freddy is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, heartwormed, and flea-treated. Freddy is a pedigree border terrier.
Medical notes
Freddy may be low in RBC count. Leema Rescue will pay for a follow up blood test at our vet in January. If Freddy is low in RBC, then it is recommended that Freddy goes on iron supplements.
Freddy may be hard of hearing.
