About Mickey
All About Me and My Unique Personality:
Mickey is a very friendly puppy, and will make a wonderful and loyal large family dog. He has learnt his name quicklyand comes running when he is called to give super smoochy kisses with a tail that makes his whole back end twist as he wags his tail with joy.
My Ideal Home:
Mickey will benefit from a family who understand his need for a 45 min to 1 hour walk each morning to ensure Mickey's physical and mental wellbeing together with a weekly run on the off leash dog beach or zoomies with a doggie friend. He is smart and eager to learn so would also benefit from puppy preschool so that he learns his manners. He is currently trained to sleep overnight in his crate, outside in his kennel or in his bed in the laundry. Despite his young age Mickey is happy to hold on toileting until he is let out in the morning. He has also dug some holes in the backyard however he's foster parents have learnt how to fill the hole and show Mickey he cannot dig there again which is working. Mickey has also mistaken shoes for toys along with few other backyard items. Mickey is a fast learner and quickly learnt to sit, go down on his belly and shake in the first few days in foster care. Mickey has also learnt to speak on command and will tell you he loves you!
What is Known About My Background:
Mickey found his way to the Pound and no one has come to claim him. Perhaps he was the last of a litter that was no longer wanted.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets:
It is early days in foster care and Mickey will continue to be exposed to all sorts of experiences to see him thrive. He has met the resident adult Bull Arab x, Kelpie x and cattle dog. and has displayed nothing but a waggy tail and excitement at the introduction. He met a cat and was scared witless and the hackles went up and as soon as she gave him the "glare" he turned heel and ran, then snuck back for another look. To my mind he is a little bit too interested in cats but he might settle after a longer period of introduction. He has also had the same experience with horses.
