Vissla is an active and outgoing puppy who is eager to please her humans. She is very smart and will be a breeze to train.
The puppies are well socialised with other dogs & older children.
The puppies mother is a purebred Red & Tan Kelpie and the father is a medium/long haired Wheaten & White purebred Border Collie. Both parents have worked sheep & cattle.
A bit about the Border Collie:
The Border Collie is frequently named the most intelligent dog breed, and as such requires considerable mental stimulation as well as physical activity. For this reason they are among some of the most successful breeds in various competitive sports.
Due to its reputation as a workaholic, the Border Collie dog’s temperament can be demanding and energetic, yet playful. Because of this, they are better off with owners who can provide them with extensive play and exercise. If their needs are not met, they can develop anxiety and can become destructive. Therefore, they should not be left alone for too long with nothing to do.
A bit about the Kelpie:
The Kelpie is known for its boundless energy, enthusiasm and work ethic. For this reason, they are not recommended for relatively inactive families, as they require lots of physical and mental stimulation each day. A bored Kelpie can develop behavioural problems, so owners are encouraged to keep them well occupied.
A highly intelligent breed, the Kelpie is easy to train and a fast learner. Not only are they great workers, but they excel in agility trials.

Adoption details
~ ADOPTION PROCESS ~
STEP 1: An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
** PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT DO INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS ** We require all animals to have a meet & greet with their new family before they are officially adopted, no exceptions. If you are willing and able to meet the dog in person, we are happy to accomodate the adoption.
STEP 2: If successful, our foster carer will be in touch within 24-48 hours.
STEP 3: A 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
STEP 4: The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 4 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
STEP 5: A 10 day trial period commences once the animal has been collected from the foster carer.
STEP 6: The Adoption is the finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email after this period. Please note this can take up to 4 weeks pending on the microchip paperwork.
Sorry we can’t take calls, as our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, but we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 - 48 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
** PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT HOLD ANY ANIMALS SO PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT NOW. **
