About Leia π
This sweet little girl is Leia, our 9 week old Belgian Shepherd x Ridgeback x Shar Pei x Bulldog. She is one of a few in the litter with a beautiful ridge down her back π
She is currently in care with 3 of her siblings, living with 2 host dogs & 1 host cat and also young children. Whilst Leia was very timid and unsure of the world when she arrived in care, she is certainly growing in confidence now.....Leia can be shy and reserved when meeting new people, but it doesn't take her long to come out of her shell. She is an absolute sweetheart who loves to fall asleep in your lap where she feels safe, and never short on handing out sweet gentle puppy kisses.
Leia is sleeping inside with her siblings and doing well with toilet training, now heading outside to do her business. This is something that will need to be continued in her new home. She gets along well with her host dogs and siblings and not at all bothered by the cats in her foster home. She is also extremely gentle with young children.
We would love to see Leia find a home where she had the company and guidance of another dog, but would also be suited in an only dog home if she had the company of her humans around.
At this stage, we think Leia will be a medium to large dog when fully grown, so you would need to be prepared for this. She will need a medium to large size yard and a home where she will be treated as part of the family π¨βπ¨βπ§βπ§ππ
As with all our pups, we strongly recommend enrolling in Puppy school. Leia will need continued socialisation with other dogs during the puppy stage and into adulthood, as well as ongoing training so that she grows up to be a well mannered and socialised girl.
We would love to help get you started with training, so our amazing supporters, Best Friends - Erina, have kindly offered to include a 5 week Puppy training course with all of our Puppy adoptions (up to 16wks of age)....The Best Friends Puppy Pre-School service is a fun and interactive five-week training course that covers puppy behaviours, diet, health, grooming, exercise and play, with an emphasis on socialisation, command training, health and care. Their aim is to teach you positive ways to train your puppy in basic skills such as βsitβ, βdropβ, βstayβ, and how to walk well on a lead, but also how to control your puppyβs not so desirable behaviours like toileting inside, biting, mouthing and separation anxiety.
Leia is booked in for Desex on Wednesday 23rd October and will be available to take home once she recovers (within a few days). She is located in Gwandalan on the Central Coast NSW.

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
