About Boots
DOB 01/08/2014
Hey guys, my name is Boots. I'm one of the most chilled out, happy doggos you'll ever meet! I love other dogs, people and most of all, belly rubs. I was left in the council pound to die, but nobody can understand why. I am an amazing dog!! I spend my days soaking up the sun and rolling on the grass. I am happy chilling on my own, but prefer to have a doggo friend for company. I haven't met cats yet, so please don't try to make me live with them unless they're inside 24/7 and I will be outside.
I live in a busy area and there are often people walking past with dogs and prams and I just sit quietly and watch them. I am very well mannered and quiet; as long as I'm having pats, that's all I need! I am fantastic with my 6yr old human friend, and would go great in a home with children. I love all humans but especially men - I'd be a great tradie dog! I just love to hang out with you, following you around and watching you. My exact breed mix is unknown, but we think maybe boxer x staffy.
At night time I sleep in a crate (with the door open) and just let myself in when I am sleepy. It's my happy quiet place and I really like it. Before this home, my emergency carer had me sleeping on the patio on a couch with the other dogs- so I am used to inside or outside, and don't seem to have a preference for where I sleep at night; I just go with the flow. I am good with food, and being food orientated I am a pleasure to teach. I currently live with fulltime workers, and just hang out with the other dogs while they're gone. I show no sign of destructive or bad behaviour. I currently stay in a yard with 6ft fencing and my new home should also have either 6ft fencing or some sort of electronic system to keep me safe. I have no known fears or phobias, and will fit in easily to most homes! I have spent enough time in limbo, I am ready for my forever home. Apply to meet me today!
Medical notes
I was tested for heartworm when OTC rescued me, and was found negative. I have had all my vaccinations, microchip, worm tick and flea done, and desexing too. I eat normal adult biscuits and am a healthy happy boy.
Adoption details

- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
