About Casper Chesterton
Casper loves his new life! He loves quiet walks and the opportunity to sniff all the interesting smells he has not experienced before. He loves to wander around the garden and lie in the sunshine with his dearly loved toys (we feel he had never been given any toys in the past, as he did not understand them when he joined us). He loves to lie on a garden bench, next to his foster carer, and have tummy rubs and then a quiet snooze. He loves car rides and travels well.
Prior to coming into foster care, Casper had spent all 9 years of his life locked in a backyard with very little human interaction and no dog socialisation and had not been taught any basic commands. Due to this lack of socialisation, Casper does not like other dogs and is dog reactive. Casper needs a patient and attentive home, with dog experienced people, who will understand how to deal with his wariness and reactivity: a home without any young children and no other dogs nor cats.
Since joining his foster home Casper has learnt many commands. He is quick and willing learner as he just wants to please and be given a pat. He is house trained and waits patiently until you take him outside.
Casper has an easy care coat that only requires a weekly brush. He has no identified illnesses and has the spirit and enthusiasm of a much younger dog.
We do not feel Casper could be an apartment dweller due to his love of wandering in the garden.
All in all, Casper will be a loving companion to an adult family prepared to incorporate him into their everyday life. He will do anything for a little bit of TLC.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
