About ❤ Yogi 🐾
Meet Yogi The Handsome!
This guy is so chill; he absolutely adores other cats, humans, food, sleeping, toys and love! He bears no ill will towards anyone or anything. He was a bit shy at first but quickly worked out that he quite enjoyed being cuddled and fussed over and having a house to lie around in, getting brushed and eating. Eating!
Now, after a few moments of sussing out a new human, he's confident around people and can't wait to find his forever snooze room and cuddle buddy! He's loves other cats but isn't confident with dogs at all. He'd be fine with older kids but would probably love just being with a cat loving couple who'll adore him.
The only thing missing in Yogi's life is his very own human to have and to hold, to love and to cherish and all that stuff :)
If you have a hole in your life roughly the size of a fluffy black cat... then Yogi just might be able to fill it for you <3

* Yogi is FIV positive however please don't click off his profile on reading this! Its important to understand what FIV means, its nothing like the stigma it has in the cat adoption field and is an unnecessary (and heartbreaking) barrier to amazing cats finding forever homes :(
How cats contract FIV:
Alot of FIV cats (pretty much all that rescue orgs come across!) are gentle, feline friendly and submissive. We believe they contract FIV from being bullied by more dominant roaming males, NOT from being aggressive, FIV does NOT equal aggression. A sweet guy who loves his kitty buddies is not a threat to other cats. FIV is ONLY transferred via deep bite wounds where the FIV cat's saliva and the other cat's blood mix this means there has to be a serious fight for transference to happen. A cat like Yogi would never initiate a fight or even argument with your existing cat, he's 100% gentle and loving towards them. If your cats is used to others and will happily accept a newbie into your home, they'd be absolutely fine together 😎
For the same reason, although Yogi wouldn't CAUSE the transference of FIV (he doesn't even know he has it!), he should be kept as an inside cat to avoid the chance of a roaming male seeing him as a threat and starting a punch on :)
FIV and health:
Many of our team members own FIV cats (who live in harmony with non FIV cats) and find that a quality dry food and occasional vet visit is suffice to keep these guys healthy. As long as they're vaccinated and aren't exposed to ongoing new cats which could be carrying various illnesses, there's no reason an FIV cat would be any less healthy than a non FIV cat :)
Please contact us if you have any questions about this or would like to discuss our gorgeous boy fitting into your home safely :)
