About Huni
Hi, I'm Huni! Cute as a button, soft as a marshmallow, & sweet as sugar - this little bunny is albino-eyed & bushy-tailed, ready to hop right into her new BFF's heart! Everyone who meets me says that I am an absolute honey bunny! You are not going to want to miss out on adopting me ASAP!!
Like most rabbits, I can wary of you at first & I don't really like to be picked up but I have such character once you get to know me! I adore human company - my room is in the large laundry that my human foster Mummy has let me have the run of but the door is left open & I am always peering round the corner so that I can hop, hop, hop & sit right near my favourite humans. I am very social, I love attention & company!
I am currently fostered with two feline friends & a 2 1/2 yr old Kelpie brother - he is very gentle with me & I love to go up to give them all a good sniff & a ""Good morning to you""!
I have impeccable manners - I use my litter tray well & always in the same space. I don't mind sharing as my canine foster brother steals my carrots ALL the time but I don't mind even though I am VERY food orientated.
I wasn't eating much when I first came to my foster home but now I am eating like a horse! I LOVE hay, darker greens like silverbeet & watercress, & broccollini too. I love basil, parsely, & coriander. REALLY hate asparagus (probably Brussels sprouts too so if there's any children out there who don't like asparagus or sprouts? We are kindred spirits!!) & I go CRAZEEEEEEEEE over apples, my favourite treats.
I am inquisitive - I love to explore my surrounds. My human foster Mummy even takes me into the back yard for picnics &, as long as she keeps a close eye on me, I am very confident & don't try to run away or hide.
As with most animals until they settle in to their new surroundings, I need my space to sit & ponder & then I am happy to hop over to you. My foster Mummy thinks I wouldn't suit being kept in a hutch outside because I am so social & love to be involved in the action so I would need a household with lots going on & good, gentle company for me.
Want to know how to keep a bunny happy? We rabbits need a calm, stress free environment, so suit adult owners or gentle children. We like to spend most of their time with our Loved Ones, with just a bit of outside time if it's good weather. We don't cope well with heat, so when it's hot, keep me inside with the air conditioner on. A healthy rabbit diet includes good quality hay, vegetables, leafy greens, fruit, seeds, roots and herbs. I'll love it if you build playground tunnels with different levels to jump on, hide away and dig in, especially if you change it around from time to time. Sticks and bark are great to chew on. It's important for me to have at least four hours a day to roam freely around the house or bunny secured yard.
I CAN FLY TO PERTH!
Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to you in Perth for around $50 airfare.
