About Mac
Hey everyone, it's me Mac. I've recently arrived into care with Belle Vie after a large operation to have ex-race dogs brought into the safety of rescue. I am a retired racer and I am looking to spend the rest of my days in luxury.
I am only 3, so still have my whole life ahead of me, and I am definitely ready to learn how to be a real dog, and not just a money machine. I've never been allowed inside before arriving into care, nor have I been taught any tricks. I am looking for an owner experienced in the breed, or just someone that has a lot of patience and understanding. I am in no way a naughty dog - I am very well behaved - I just need someone to show me how to be a dog, as I have never been given the chance.
I am extremely gentle and sweet, and you won't find a bad bone in my body. In fact, I had absolutely no prey drive as a racer, which is probably why I was moved on from that life. I currently live with other dogs in care, and I get along great with them, however only if they respect my peace and quiet and space. A family without other dogs, or an old, placid dog is the ideal home for me.
I've been learning how to play fetch. It's quite fun. I still don't quite know what to do once I have the ball, but I am sure there is something that happens next...maybe I will learn that soon too?
I am untested with small dogs orchildren. Given my very gentle and loving nature, I am sure I will be okay with older, calmer kids. Sometimes life still gives me a fright, but I am quickly learning that everything is going to be a-okay. I like to chase cats, so please don't pick me if you have feline friends at home.
I'm allowed inside in my foster home, and even though I am not quite sure what everything is, as its all so new, I sure am enjoying it. I need to work on my toilet training but I will get there.
It won't be long until I am a real companion dog, that understands love and commitment. I really am a special boy, that deserves a chance at a happy normal life. I sure hope someone falls in love with me
Adoption details
To enquire about an animal available for adoption, please contact us via Facebook or send an email to bellevieanimalrescue@gmail.com. We will respond within 48 hours and send a questionnaire for you to complete.
Applications are not approved on a first in, best dressed basis, rather we will assess on your suitability. Should we believe that the animal you have applied for may not suit your home or lifestyle, we will work with you until we find your perfect match.
Upon approval of your application, we will organise a mutually convenient time and location to do the meet and greet. If the meet is successful, there will be an adoption contract to complete and sign and the full adoption amount is required unless previously organised with Belle Vie Animal Rescue. Your adoption pack will include a copy of the contract for you, all vet work and a microchip change of ownership form, which will be filled out and submitted by BVAR at the end of the adoption trial.
