METAL MYRTLE NEEDS LOVE
Does your sludge rock band need a new mascot? Were you a huge fan of Grumpy Cat? Are you looking for a low-maintenance, high-love feline situation? Do you love kitties but have a bunny/bird/hamster that you're afraid will be in danger if you get a cat? Do you love strange furry souls who are unlike anyone else you've ever met?
If you answered "yes" to any of the above, then Myrtle just might be for you. This is a cat who loves love, who desperately wants to be loved, and apart from that just wants to lie around all day on her back with her feet sticking straight in the air like a weirdo. She is VERY vocal - she yowls when she's looking for her human friends, and it sounds like she's being dragged to the depths of hell. We suspect that Myrtle is deaf - she is not fazed by vacuum cleaners, thunder storms, or loud music. We think her yowls are so loud because she herself cannot hear them. She has a bit of the famous Grumpy Cat underbite, and she has a way of staring at you that looks a little like she is hexing you with her giant golden eyes. (Her nickname among her foster mum's friends is "Metal Myrtle".) But the truth is she is just wants to lie on your bed, or on your lap, or on your couch, and be loved. She is not a scaredy cat, she is very personable and settles in nicely and easily in new homes - she has a very strong sense of self! And she could not care less about other animals - she currently lives with a small parrot and has never shown any sign of interest in him.
Myrtle does not want a feline playmate - she could potentially live with another cat, but only if that cat was very low energy. Same goes for dogs. Small children would likely be hard for her to handle. She cannot really jump (she's TINY, and has short legs, and is kinda round) so she's a good cat for a home with an enclosed patio...she may want to venture out to lie in the sun, but there's no chance she'll escape.
Everyone who has met Myrtle has fallen in love with her. She is so strange and wonderful and unique. The world is full of bouncy tabbies. There is only one Myrtle. Could she be the Myrtle for you???
