About Marley | good with cats
1) Generally
- Good with Other Dogs
- Good With Cats
- Good with Kids + 12 yrs due size
- Toilet Trained
- Size 30 kgs
2) Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
This affectionate, quiet, young staffy (1yr) is good with dogs, cats and kids.
Marley likes exercise, playing with other dogs and spending time with her family. Like most intelligent young dogs, she needs mental stimulation otherwise may dig or chew - especially if alone for long periods.
Marley is social and friendly with other dogs and enthusiastically rushes into another dog's space wanting to say hello in a friendly manner.
3) Ideal Owner
Active singles or couples, perhaps with older kids, home more often than not looking for a friendly, social young companion.
Marley would like another friendly dog for company but this is not essential.
While Marley is good with kids (and loves playing with them) we recommend homes where any kids are at least teenagers and only if gentle and calm around dogs. No dog deserves to be rough housed or exposed to a loud, chaotic environment.
Marley will not suit homes where people live in very close proximity to each other with small outside areas e.g. villas, units, apartment complexes, terrace houses, strata complexes etc.
As Marley is people orientated she needs to be part of family activities.
Marley will not suit homes with residents that are:
- very young, frail, elderly,
- renters,
- novice dog owners or
- time poor.
4) Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Quiet and rarely makes a sound
Marley will suit any of the following:
- someone home more often than not.
- stay at home parent.
- someone that works from home.
- part time workers.
- empty nesters.
- active retirees.
Marley is currently fine alone for half the day then becomes bored however, she is in a small yard with a busy family.
5) Exercise Requirements
High. Marley needs daily good quality exercise and mental stimulation.
6) Type of Yard Required
- Medium to large interesting and secure.
- May take advantage of an open gate and wander off but does not usually try and escape.
- Ok with shoulder height fencing.

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS (simple and easy)
1. Read the dog's detailed profile thoroughly - for you to self screen
2. The Expression of Interest (EOI) form MUST be completed prior to a meet and greet.
https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
3. Speak to the carer/owner directly for more detailed info to determine if there are any 'deal breakers' - designed to save time and avoid falsely raising hopes.
4. 'Meet & Greet' - you travel to where the dog is. If you have a current dog it must meet too. We strongly recommend all members of the family attend. Both parties may wish to report their thoughts to each other but MUST update Dog Adoption directly too.
5. The dog MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS have been made e.g. travelling more then 2 hrs round trip. In this case we need a minimum of 2 days notice. The adoption agreement and payment must be made before collection of the dog.
6. Normally, both parties have a think about the meeting, and if they wish to proceed, the adoption is completed after the adoption agreement, payment and screening is finalised.
7. A 2 week cooling off period commences once the dog arrives.
