About Joanie
Joanie is an eleven year old German Shepherd who found herself brought into a busy Sydney Animal Shelter. This darling mature aged girl was so confused and anxious we were contacted by the shelter seeking our help to take this gentle girl into our care. The Shelter staff guessed her age, but now that she has had all her vet work done, she is acting like an eight year old girl.
Joanie is a very special mature aged lady who unfortunately has had a hard life. Joanie has had many litters in her life so we are looking for a caring owner who can give this gentle lady quality of life and love.
Joanie is very soft, loves her people and would’ve a wonderful companion dog for an older couple or a single.
Joanie is in care at Cumberland Reach and is still an active girl who would enjoy a daily walk. She has been desexed, vaccinated and is microchipped. She had mammary tumours which we have sought a veterinarian’s opinion on and removed.
She has yet to be tested with cats at this time.
If you think you can give her a home please contact us.
Medical notes
Joanie has been desexed, vaccinated and is microchipped, wormed and flea treated.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
