About Nala
Hi, my name is Nala.
I have recently come into care with OTC after being saved from the pound with my son Bam Bam. My motherly nature shows with how calm, gentle and considerate I am. I am such a well behaved girl with a very good temperment, I dont bark or have any naughty tendancies - Just love lounging, sunbathing, sleeping and seeing my humans! I like other dogs, and cats, and am good with kids also - so i am not picky when considering my forever family. I have low energy levels and I just like to go for a nice casual walk to get me out and about. I am also well behaved at the dog park. Car rides are super fun, I love sticking my head out the window and letting my cheeks and ears flap in the wind! For long trips I settle in fast and usually nap the whole way.
I currently sleep inside at night, on a dog bed with my foster sibling (i'm big spoon). My house training is great and I sleep through the night well, in fact I might sleep in longer than you!. I am used to carers who work part time hours, and live with another adult dog, but would mould to most lifestyles and environments. I am really looking forward to spending the rest of my days with my forever family, whoever that may be - I have alot of love to give so please enquire about me today.

Adoption details

- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate and microchip number implant details. You will also be provided with 7 days worth of food, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
