About 544 - Houdini
🧶🌈 INTRODUCING DINI 🌈🧶
Hello! Feed me!
Oh, my name's Dini, by the way. I'm nearly 4 years old and until recently I'd lived on the streets my whole life. It was tough out there for a sweet little thing like me.
When humans first found me I was so hungry and so small that I still looked like a kitten, despite being fully grown. Some meanie had even bitten one of my ears so badly it needed to be stitched back together! (But don't worry, it's all better now.)
Despite this, I still love other kitties and hold no grudges, because I'm a sweetheart like that.
When humans first found me I was so scared I hid under the bed for weeks. I'd scramble away and try to find a new hiding spot if a hand ever reached out to pat me. Until one day… the day I realised humans were friends, was the day that the hand reaching out to me was a single index finger - much less scary than a whole hand! And not only that, it was covered in *food*. Delicious chicken pate.
Oh. My. Goodness. 😋
I licked it all up and, despite having been a scared little mouse up until then, I flopped onto the floor and started purring like a tiny lion.
It wasn't long until I was venturing out from my hiding spot and exploring my new surroundings - a little more boldly every day.
Fast forward several months - now I'm an adorable, chunky little purr machine whose three favourite things in the whole world are food, other cats, and pats from humans - but only if you let me sniff your index finger before you pat me.
I'll purr extra loud if you call me "little Dini" or "Good Kitty", and if a big scary noise startles me, I'll look at you expectantly until you reassure me "It's alright", at which point I will visibly relax.
I'm still very kitten-like and love to play. I will be sure to make you laugh as I throw my toys in the air and do flips mid-air while catching them.
I'm still very shy around new humans, but don't worry - with a little bit of love and patience I will open up and be a quirky and loving new member of your family, (some tasty treats will make it happen faster!)
