About Addie
Miss Addie of the excellent "ear hat" is a fun loving 5-year old girl who is searching for the perfect home where she can couch potato to her hearts content. She's the sweetest snuggle bug who adores people and will quickly become your best friend.
Unfortunately, our Addie holds the record for 'adoption trial fails' and her next family must be committed to being her very last! In her first placement she was bitten by a dog in the park, and in her second she damaged the fly screen when left outside alone for the very first time. All she needs is a family that will keep her safe and take the time to teach her slowly that the people are always going to come back to her and she doesn't need to worry.
Addie loves to play, and she'll keep you entertained with her antics chasing and throwing her squeaky soft toys. She's a clever girl and very food motivated which makes training a breeze, she would love someone to teach her new tricks which is a great way to bond together, and she already has good "house manners" and has been taught the kitchen is off limits when someone is cooking.
A couple of walks a day are a must for this young lady, as she loves to explore and every trip outside to her is a very exciting "sniffari" and she will kindly show you where to find the very best smells! When she's not out adventuring, Addie's most favourite thing of all is practicing her doggy yoga. Greyhounds are well-known for their unique sleeping positions, but Addie takes 'roaching' to a whole new level. Just try to take your eyes off her as she demonstrates one weird stretch after another - all while snoozing away!
Addie is currently living in an apartment, however she would love a backyard where she could stretch her legs and show you her fabulous zoomies. She is fine living alone with full time workers, however it is very important that her new home has some time to help settle her in and undertake some alone training before trying to leave her for a whole work day (our adoptions team can take you through this further, however we estimate that a two week period is ideal for settling her in).
Although she is very easy going and friendly with all people (including children) that she meets, other dogs are very scary for Addie and she and tends to show this by freezing or fixating. She has grown a lot of confidence while working with our trainer and walks perfectly on leash (no lunging or pulling), however she needs someone who is committed to showing her they will keep her safe by avoiding on leash meetings with other dogs, or spaces where she might encounter off leash dogs, it is recommended Addie continue to wear her muzzle in high traffic areas.
As one of our long-term foster pups, Addie is tired of seeing her friends go off to their forever homes. Surely this little lady with so much love to give deserves her happy ending too? If you think that you can provide the very best home for our beautiful girl, please send us an email at adopt@amazinggreys.com.au. Addie eagerly awaits your applications!
** Addie is not small animal tolerant and would not be suited to a home with cats. She is reactive to other dog breeds **
