About Billy
Billy is a cute little Beagle with the heart of a lion. He’s a brave little adventurer who begins each day with a Beagle Burn ... a high velocity tour of a backyard more suited to the loping gait of a German Shepherd. Undeterred by such details, he sometimes makes it over the retaining walls (and sometimes has to use the stairs) and patrols the yard to ensure everything is exactly as he left it.
He’s enthusiastic and affectionate, and happy to make friends with all new comers, human or canine. Since being in foster care, Billy has been learning that cuteness alone does not a hero make. A true hero has impeccable manners - and Billy is on the right track. In the past few weeks he’s learned good manners and to listen, but he has a way to go with his training and will need a family who can continue what’s been started. He also needs a home with excellent fencing - whilst he cannot climb, the adventurer in him will lead him to creating his own exit points from your yard if the motivating takes him, and he is a good excavator.
In his exuberance, Billy chose to bark at the foster cat recently, fortunately for Billy, foster puss chose not to take offence (this particular villain is out of his league) however we would suggest he would be best suited to a home without cats or other small animals. Ideally Billy would be looking for a lovely home with people who are as adventurous as he is and would be happy to include him in their adventures. He has been great with the older kids who frequently visit his foster home but is untested with very young kids. Given his exuberance, we would suggest older kids only. So if you are looking for a buddy who will take in the world with you and would like to continue to guide this little guy on his path to becoming a true hero, please email us at caninelifeline@hotmail.com and we will send an application form.
Medical notes
Billy has no major medical requirements.
