About Ruckus
I am a medium dog who can weigh between 10 - 20kgs.
I’m an average dog who is looking to go on regular walks and outings with my new family to satisfy my exercise needs.
I have a short coat that requires little maintenance to keep looking lovely. Just a brush and a bath occasionally should be enough for me.
I am an exuberant dog who would benefit from attending training classes to help me learn new skills such as not jumping up when I greet you, playing politely with people and other dogs and other skills like how to keep me occupied when I get bored.
I have shown that I am not comfortable around some dogs. I like my own space and may be quite selective about who I allow into my social circle.
I have a history that says I am unable to live with certain types of animals. Please talk to the reception staff if you would like further information.
I’m quite a boisterous dog who doesn’t know my own strength, so I may be a little too exuberant for small children, but if you are willing to put in the time and training I may become a great family companion.
I'm a lovable dude who loves a lazy afternoon chilling on the verandah after a good run at the park. I can be a little bit rough when I play, but what I'd love most is a home with people who will spend all afternoon giving me a massage.
Adoption details
Our dedicated staff and volunteers are committed to successful adoption outcomes for our dogs and cats. Individual behavioural and training plans plus environmental enrichment programs are prepared for all the animals in our care to help ensure they are able to put their 'best paw forward' when they find their forever home.
Once an animal and their new owner have found their perfect match, our staff are able to assist with any questions about the settling in process to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to their new home. Our knowledgeable staff will also be able to assist you with your questions around ongoing feeding, exercise, training and other useful advice about your new pet.
We also offer an 'after adoption' service where any problems new owners may be experiencing can be discussed with a behavioural expert to ensure a loving and harmonious home environment is achieved.
The AWL is a registered charity that does not receive Government financial funding and depends on the support and generosity of the community to continue our vital services.
