About Bongo (On Trial 18/1/15~ Kelpie x Cattle Dog puppy
Introducing Bongo, 8 week old, male, Kelpie x Cattle Dog puppy. Bongo is a loving boy who loves to play with his sisters and our other dogs. If you are an active family and if you want an active, highly intelligent and faithful dog then Bongo may be the puppy for you. But, please consider if you can meet his needs for exercise, training, and affection for the next 10 to 15 years. If you can put the time in, he will be an outstanding dog in every way!
Will you enjoy taking him for a walk and playing fetch in the backyard and letting him sit with you in the evening? He won't be happy all alone in a backyard, and would get bored and could develop behaviour problems. Bongo must be welcome in the house to be part of the family, and to sleep inside, at least until he's fully grown. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life.
Bongo will grow up to be a medium sized dog. You will need solid fencing with solid material underneath such sleepers or concrete and no small gaps. He cannot go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire). Gates need to have locks on them to discourage dog thieves (sad but true). If he is to spend much time outside he'll need a kennel.
Bongo is too young to spend all day home alone so he needs either someone who doesn't work full time, or a friendly adult dog to keep him company.
Bongo will need to be taken to one of our approved vets for his 2nd vaccination and to be desexed when he's old enough. Therefore, he is only available for adoption to the following areas: Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens, NSW.
If you feel that you can give Bongo the perfect active home, than please contact his foster carer Krystina via email krystina_ws@hotmail.com and she can give you more information about him. Bongo is in care at Tingira Heights NSW 2292 in the Lake Macquarie area.
Bongo's adoption fee is only $450 and includes his desexing, first two vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping. His birthday is 22/11/14.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
