About Saturn
Introducing sweet, loveable Saturn!
Saturn is a large mix breed boy, and despite his large stature is only one year old. Saturn is
- toilet trained
- crate trained
- loose leash walking trained
- general obedience trained
Saturn is the most affectionate velcro dog we have seen, he just wants to live inside your skin! He loves having a doggy friend at home to play or cuddle with, and will listen when they tell him they need space. He loves to use his teeth to chew things, so his fish shaped chew toy is his absolute favourite and will be packed in his bag to come to your place. Saturn hasn't quite figured out how to play with toys, instead he likes to play games like chase and wrestling with his human or dog friends. He also loves his food and will do anything you ask for a couple of treats... even if he does leave a pool of drool below his big goofy head.
Saturn is a very timid boy and is not so sure about the big scary world. He needs a home who will give him space to explore a little bit at a time and won't pressure him into things he isn't ready for. This means not touching him too much if he isn't comfortable with you yet, and not walking him until he feels safe with you. For his foster carer this only took a couple days until he was ready to be her best friend. Saturn also needs another dog at home, this is essential to making him feel safe and having someone to play with so he isn't annoying you to play all the time! He also needs someone who is home more often than not as he can get into some mischief while you're away for too long. Saturn could probably learn to live with a cat with slow introductions, but due to his boisterous puppy nature and his large size he is best suited to confident big kids. Saturn is on medication to help manage his anxiety, and the doses may need varying while we figure out exactly what he needs to help him. This can be a long process but will be worth it in the long run.
Saturn is desexed, microchipped, up to date on flea and worm treatment and vaccinations, and is ready to move in with you tomorrow!
We are happy to discuss any of Saturn's needs, training history, etc with the right applicants and can send videos of his training progress.
