About Poppy
Meet Poppy – a heart-stealing, 18-month-old Cavalier x Cocker Spaniel! The second she locks eyes with you, her cheerful demeanor will shine through, and she'll soon be your favorite companion. She may start a little shy and unsure, but Poppy's friendly and outgoing nature quickly shines through once she starts to feel comfortable.
Poppy has a calm and quiet temperament, usually barking only when other dogs do, making her an excellent friend to have in the house. She's had some lead training and though she may need a little bit more practice, she is always eager to learn.
She interacts well with dogs her own size. While she can be a little anxious around larger breeds initially, with time, patience, and guidance, she will build her confidence around them. Importantly, she has a fantastic rapport with cats and will happily coexist with your current feline friends.
Once she gets to know you, Poppy turns into the affectionate and outgoing fur-friend you've always dreamed of. She'll never turn down an opportunity for a cuddle, giving you hours of joy with her playful antics.
This sweet-natured canine is looking for someone who can help her come out of her shell and showcase her loving, playful personality. Given a nurturing environment and a steady routine, Poppy will reward you with companionship, endless affection and that wagging tail of pure joy every time you walk through the door. In return, all she needs is love, kindness, and a secure backyard to scamper around in. If you love to dote on your pets and have a soft spot for smart and affectionate ladies, you and Poppy could be a match made from heaven.
Medical notes
Poppy had a dental scale and polish under GA. She also had a couple of hernia repairs done at the time of desexing. She passed her vet check
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
