About Clancy
Meet Clancy
He is a fun loving young boy who got to spend a week out in foster care however needed to be returned to the council facility as he proved unsuitable for that particular situation. His foster carer did share their experiences of him with us and is willing to chat to anyone who might be interested in either adopting of fostering this boy.
Here is what his foster Dad had to say:
Clancy has an abundance of character.
He is young, full of energy and was very responsive when calling/whistling for his attention or to call him back from his powerhouse sniffing activities!
He was really great and travelled well on the back of the ute (in a full harness and linked to the center of the headboard.
He didn't mind getting up and over the dog pen fence. (farm fence height)
He took food gently from the hand and didn't scoff his food from the bowl.
He has a gentle heart and really just wanted to please everyone even the other dogs, but he might have wanted to please them a bit too much with his young enthusiasm and there were a few return growls and one way snaps at him from the older dogs.
Nothing that a bit of growing up and dog socialisation time wouldn't fix.
He went well at the Bega Dog Park and was excited to be out and about and amongst other dogs. A little pulley on the lead but again just young at heart still in an overwhelming environment - ie, heaps of space and other dogs and people all moving about.
Ducks and other native birds- he had no interest in but the sheep in the other paddock got his attention. I think just because they were sheep and something different as it wasn't in an aggressive way, but he was about 20 meters away. Again, it's something that would become normalised in his surroundings given the opportunity.
Fit and beautiful! Clancy stayed a week with us - husband and wife, 2 aging medium size dogs, 3 sheep and all the birds who come and go.
Clancy is located in the Bega Valley and anyone interested in him will need to be prepared to come and meet him in person. He is being desexed on 28th Feb and will have all of his vet work up to date with vaccinations etc. He is also worm and flea / tick treated.
