About Coco
Winter Woof Drive... May $200 Reduced Adoption Fee🫶
Meet Energetic Coco 🩷🐾
HOUSEHOLD - Coco is a beautiful looking young girl. She has a loving, sweet nature wanting to shower her love upon every person that she meets.
Coco as shown us that she has not received much training from her previous owner, behaviourally she is still very puppy like. She will require an understanding experienced Staffy owner who has the patience and time to invest with her on going training needs.
ON-GOING TRAINING - Coco is needing to be taught basic manners and obedience, she does know sit and will do it happily most times without food. She is still very jumpy and currently learning this is not an appropriate way to gain attention. Coco is very food motivated and willing to learn things.
Her new owner will need to be a confident handler as it is imperative at this stage of Coco's life that she is able to meet with other dogs on a regular basis to ensure she remains dog social.
ON LEAD - Coco is confident, alert and happy to take the lead, following her nose to whatever is of interest to her, but can respond to “Coco, this way” when changing direction. She can be quite pully on the leash, needing guidance from her handler however she does respond well to leash pressure correction.
On the long leash Coco is much more calm and loves to wander ahead, allowing her a chance to sniff the environment around her.
While out and about, dogs do gain her interest. If you notice them prior to her, you can keep her focus with treats, allowing you to continue walking without her being distracted. Otherwise Coco does become excited and has a tendency to pull wanting to meet the them.
TOYS/PLAY- Coco has shown she has interest in toys, especially a game of tug with a rope toy. She can sometimes get over excited and grab the leash while playing if on a lead but is easily directed back to the toy. In her kennel she showed some interest in soft toys.
OTHER DOGS - It appears Coco has received limited socialisation with other canine friends as she doesn’t have the know how to introduce herself in a relaxed way.
In a controlled setting, Coco is welcoming towards other dogs and is much more at ease and interacts well.
It may be possible for Coco to be rehomed with another canine friend but that would be dependent on her new owners experience and the outcome of a meet & greet with her potential resident canine buddy to see if they are compatible.
At this time Coco is not suitable for off leash dog areas.
CATS/OTHER ANIMALS - Coco is not suitable to be rehomed with a resident cat.
CARE/GROOMING - Coco has an easy coat to maintain, and loves to be handled.
EXERCISE - Coco would benefit from daily walks and games with her human. She requires ongoing opportunities to visit outdoor areas to assist her to be more comfortable in different social environments.
NUTRITION - Coco has shown no special dietary needs. She is very gentle when taking treats.
BREED - Staffy x - DOB 10/10/22
Gorgeous Coco is located at our Charmhaven Shelter and her $550 adoption fee covers - microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, current vaccination, flea and worming treatments.
If you are an experienced dog owner and have a soft spot for a beautiful white Staffy x girl, please lodge your adoption interest online.
