PetRescue’s Home2Home team shares learnings with organisations around the world
Creating a future where every pet is safe, respected, and loved requires collaboration.
No single organisation can solve the challenges facing pets and the people who care for them alone. That’s why sharing knowledge, insights, and learnings is such an important part of PetRescue’s work.
In August 2025, the PetRescue Home2Home team had the opportunity to share learnings from our Guardian-Assisted Rehoming Program at the 10th National Getting-2-Zero Summit with organisations from around the world, bringing together people working across rescue, animal welfare, community services, and the human-animal bond.
The event welcomed 115 organisations from at least eight countries, including rescue organisations, veterinary services, animal advocacy groups, local governments, education providers, training and behaviour professionals, pet insurance companies, and organisations focused on keeping people and pets together.
While every organisation was at a different stage of its journey, everyone shared the same vision: creating better outcomes for people and pets.
The Home2Home team shared insights from years of supporting pet guardians through difficult circumstances, highlighting how early intervention, practical support, and compassionate guidance can help keep pets safe and reduce pressure on already stretched rescue systems.
Because sometimes the best outcome for a pet isn’t finding a new home.
It’s helping them stay safely with the family who already loves them.
By sharing what we’ve learned, PetRescue hopes to support others working towards the same goal — creating more pathways for pets to stay safe, strengthening the communities around them, and building a future where every pet is safe, respected, and loved.
