About Marigold
Marigold is the worst cat.
She will ruin your life.
At first you’ll just think she’s sweet, but over time you’ll start to notice that she has somehow become the centre of your universe.
It’ll start slowly.
First you’ll be mesmerised by her big beautiful eyes. Then you’ll find yourself just staring at her and admiring how beautiful she is and realise there’s never been a more beautiful cat ever in the whole history of the world. You’ll look for excuses to run your hands down her silky coat at every opportunity. Then notice your floor is covered in her fur and you need to vacuum. But then you’ll do it again and get stuck in an endless cycle of pats and vacuum. It’s true. She sheds like a… well, like a cat.
Then you’ll notice how cuddly she is. Like proper mold into your body type of cuddly. She’ll be so comfortable, and you’ll be so content, you’ll never want to move. So then you’ll start noticing that you keep running late for work, because 5 more minutes of cuddles can’t hurt. Except that 5 minutes becomes half an hour and then of course you’ll need to change your clothes because you’ll be covered in fur (see above Re shedding) so over time you’ll keep turning up later and later to work. So you’ll snap out of it and reduce the cuddle times. Which is fine because Marigold is actually quite independent and happy to have alone time. But then she will let you know that you’ve been neglecting her with a very cross look and a little nip or two. And you’ll feel guilty. So you’ll make sure she’s getting her cuddles, then you’ll be late to work and the cycle will start again until you seriously consider just quitting your job because it’s interfering with your responsibility to make Marigold feel loved.
Then there’s the food. Oh, it’ll start out fine. She’ll eat anything you give her - to start. Then she’ll decide that she actually only likes one type of wet food. Which of course will be out of stock. So you’ll try her on all sorts of food and one day she’ll eat some random tin of something you give her. So you’ll go out and buy it ALL, only to have her turn her nose up at it that night. But luckily for you the other stuff she liked originally is now back in stock so you can go and spend another small fortune, having only just spent most of your pay on the other stuff she liked 2 days ago. Because keeping Marigold happy is all that matters 🙄
You don’t want to adopt this cat. Seriously, it’s not worth it. But if you do decide to proceed (and I strongly advise against it), you will need to complete an application (link below).
Indoor only unless you have a secure outdoor enclosure.
