About Charlie
Meet gorgeous Charlie a true family man, don’t let his silver frosting catch you off guard this gentleman is just turned 6 and has many years of loving left.
Charlie is a happy and confident little man, he is beyond a delight to have around and would make an excellent addition to a loving family.
He loves the company of anyone willing to give him any loving, including the 4 young children in his foster home.
Previous to life in foster care and coming into rescue Charlie lived alone with no inside access or socialisation outside of his yard.
Since being in care Charlie currently lives and gets along well with a placid female border collie but also doesn’t seem fazed by being on his own.
Charlie is currently fostered with a cat who he would be keen to chase if the cat ran, so a home without a cat or a very dog savvy one would be okay.
Charlie seems to enjoy his time outside, spending most of the day snoozing with the his foster dog sibling. Charlie doesn’t incessantly bark but can occasionally bark at the neighbouring dog or if he feels he’s missing out on something happening in the house.
Charlie doesn’t seem fazed at all when he is left at home when his carers are at work but his most favourite thing of all is, he absolutely loves spending time with his crazy busy foster family inside, snuggling on the couch.
Charlie definitely enjoys a daily walk. Due to lack of socialisation he can pull a little but easily managed in a harness. He loves to smell everything and to take in all the new sites and smells. In passing other dogs he will whine and sometimes yap. When stationary he can get quite loud. He’s quite interested in meeting other dogs but is a lacking a little manners on introduction. We have however seen no aggression from charlie on meeting multiple other dogs. Charlie recently being desexed has on a few occasions “humped” other dogs 🤦♀️ his social manners are improving.
Charlie absolutely loves being a lap dog and is happy to settle on his foster mums lap the most but does enjoy a snuggle with the kids. He loves the chaos that comes with a busy family and we think he would enjoy that in his new home.
Across the first few days Charlie did mark in the house on a few occasions but nothing since, now he’s used to all the smells. We imagine this may happen in his new home, so this can’t be a deal breaker. He sleeps perfectly in his crate all night, still curled up in his bed when his foster mum gets up.
Charlie is not destructive or overly playful. We don’t believe a home with a very playful or boisterous dog would suit. A home as a single dog or with mature submissive lady dog would probably suit best.
Charlie Loves his food and any treats! He enjoys a ride in the car, adventures to the park to watch the kids and generally being including in family life.
Charlie has had no formal training, he doesn’t sit, high 5 or play dead but he is such a beautiful little character who will be so grateful to have a wonderful family to call his own.
Although Charlie is not overly active he would like a yard to sniff, roll around and run in. He would not suit a tiny concrete yard or apartment.
If you are interested in meeting beautiful Charlie

Meet and greets are on weekends only, unless prior arrangement has been made. Please note your meet and greet will be organised the first weekend available from an approved application, we try our best to accomodate but again we can not hold animals.
