About Miss Demina
I am a sweet little 6 month old girl called Miss Demina. At the shelter I had figured out that if I hissed at people, they went away and left me alone - they were scary and all I wanted was for them to go away! So this week I went to stay with my foster human, who didn't go away when I hissed, and insisted on giving me pats and cuddles instead. And you know what? Turns out pats and cuddles are great! Now I start purring whenever my foster human gives me a pat (even when I am hiding under the rug - don't know how she finds me under there, but I start purring when she does). I'm starting to enjoying snuggling up beside (sometimes even on!) my foster human - it's a good spot to get pats and feel warm and safe. I have lovely soft fur, great for patting - just saying!
You know what I like even more than pats from my foster human? Other cats!! I spotted one of the resident cats from my hiding spot on my second day here, and I just couldn't stay hidden, I had to come out and say hi and let him know how happy I was to see him! Knowing I wasn't the only cat here made me so much braver and more confident, so I would be so happy if you had another cat that is looking for a new friend to keep them company!
I am still only a kitten and learning how to play with humans - sometimes I forget that they don't appreciate me using my claws with them, but a gentle reminder from my foster human is enough for me to put them away for play time. I guess you could say I am still a work in progress - I will still run to my safe hiding spot if I am startled - but I am growing in confidence everyday. Do you (and your cat) have room in your home and hearts for me?
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
