On Hold
Rita and Jewel are ‘waste products’ of the racing industry and both, at only 7 years old, find themselves with nowhere to go.
Jewel sustained severe injuries to her forelegs in a paddock incident, receiving no vet care and rendering her unsound to ride. Poor Rita was deemed a dangerous horse due to kicking her own legs when galloping, causing blind panic.
To handle, both mares are genuine, willing to please and a joy to be around. They deserve the chance to live together with a family to dote on them after a tough few years.
Both horses need a companion only home although would be happy to engage in ground activities such as liberty training to keep them mentally stimulated. Jewel is unsuitable to be paddocked with smaller ponies as she becomes too bossy with them.
These girls will be up to date with all vetwork and neither one has displayed any intent to bite, kick, windsuck etc.
Our adoption process is an initial application form, followed by a conversation over message or phone, and finally a property check. Adopters must agree to the condition that animals must be returned to our rescue if they can no longer stay in their home.
