About Annie
I'm currently in a foster home with Rescue Hub's wonderful trainer, Andrew, and his doggie, and I'm loving it ❤️
Andrew has helped me so much to be the best loving doggie ever and I'm so grateful I've had this chance.
This is what my foster dad, Andrew, has to say about me
• Annie is a love bug, she is very affectionate & thrives off your attention.
• She walks very well on leash & is very easy to handle/control given her size.
• She is a ball of energy so regular exercise is essential.
• She can get along with most dogs as long as the other dog is social. Annie only becomes tense & could potentially react if the other dog has no self-control and begins to bark & lunge towards her on a walk.
• In a controlled calm environment where she trusts the handler, she will not react to new dogs and will respond to the handler very well.
• She currently lives with an American Staffy & has had no issues living together. They play well together.
• She warms up very quickly to new people. Is not shy or scared at all.
• She is great with children but we would recommend older children not toddlers
• Despite her size, Annie can jump very high.
• She does not have destructive tendencies.
• She is toilet trained & will know to only go outside if she has regular access. A doggy door would be ideal.
• Annie can be left alone for long periods at a time (for those that work 9 to 5’s) with no issues.
• She will generally sleep all day and likes to spend her spare time sniffing in the backyard.
• Annie is very food motivated. She has come a long way with her food etiquette. She used to snatch food from your hand & didn’t have much impulse control. Now she will take food gently from your hand and will patiently sit & wait (even if you walk away for a bit) until she is told she can eat. She can eat in the presence of other dogs without being reactive.
• Food training exercises will need to be continued once Annie has a new family to maintain these habits.
• When Annie is overexcited, she may begin to play bite but once told firmly “NO” she will understand she can’t do this anymore.
• Annie would prefer a home that:
Doesn't have cats
Doesn't have kids under 5
Medical notes
Medical notes:
Annie has a very small mast cell tumour on her back leg which is currently being managed with diet and supplements, and has not grown at all.
