About Tropical Smoothie
Do you want a small friendly 2 year old tabby who is very active and has plenty of sass? Then I'm your girl!!
I came into Cat Haven from a local pound and even though I was not sterilized or microchipped, it was obvious that I had been a pet as I had no fear of humans and was happy to be picked up or patted.
After having my snip and chip, I went out to a foster home where I can have a bit more space until I find my furrever home.
Someone at Cat Haven gave me the name of Tropical Smoothie - perhaps it was nearly lunchtime when I arrived? However my foster mum calls me Sally which I think is far more suitable for the pretty girl that I am.
I'm a confident cat and settled in immediately to my foster home and love my tucker and the company of my foster mum, on my terms. I let her pat me and pick me up and I purr gently and even lick her hand but I will let her know when I have had enough.
The 3 resident cats are a different matter and I was not impressed by them and initially I hissed and growled when I saw or heard them. However that was because I was actually scared of them. I really wanted to get out of the foster room and have the run of the whole house so I toned this down to a single hiss when I saw one of them and then I ran away from them. But as the two boys are "woosie pussies" and didn't respond, I stopped hissing and running away and I even occasionally chase one of them for fun - mine not his. I sniff noses with the other boy. The Persian girl cat is another matter and while my foster mum says she actually wants a cuddle buddy, when I hiss at her she hisses back at me or cries, so we are at a bit of a stale mate. But it hasn't stopped her from approaching me so maybe we will get along one day. But I really like being around my foster mum and if she goes out of the room I will follow her to wherever she is going.
My foster mum says that I would best be suited to a household with adults or older children as I can hiss when I have had enough attention and this might scare younger children. I like to play with dangly toys and climb up the cat tree. When I am shut in the foster room at bed time, I hang out on the human bed which I favour over my cat bed. While I would be fine being the only animal, my foster mum thinks that I would adapt to sharing my home with other friendly cats with a gentle introduction. I haven't met a dog since I came in to Cat Haven but my foster mum thinks I would growl at them too and be very scared.
If you think that you are a good match for Sally, then come and meet her at her foster home in Cottesloe.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
