About Banjo
Introducing Banjo
Foster carer also needed
Ridgeback x boy – about a year old.
Banjo was another of our Deathrow 9 babies and he has done nothing but win hearts since he climbed off transport.
To say he is a heart stealer is an understatement.
We do not know his history, but we do know one so young shouldn’t have so many troubles on his shoulders.
From day one he has tried so hard to please and be happy, but there has been an underlying sadness and some anxiety.
Our amazing carers have worked so hard to bring him out of himself and allow his personality to shine.
We did have him on a short course of anti anxiety medication as being left alone was a major source of trauma for him.
He is now confident enough to not need medication, but he does still need a lot of reassurance that you are there and he is not going to be left alone again.
Time and love are great healers and we wholly believe he will blossom over time into the amazing boy he was always meant to be.
Banjo has unwavering loyalty and very quickly attaches himself to his “person”
He relies heavily on his “person” to reassure him that everything will be okay – once his person shows happiness around people, places or things, Banjo does too.
He really wants to embrace life but will need a security blanket person for a while longer.
Banjos biggest fear is younger men and will retreat and will often retreat and hide on first introductions.
He is super sweet and gentle with children and is simply a dream around them.
He walks and plays gently, accepts pats readily and has the most beautiful manners.
But he still has a lot of puppy fun to catch up on so he does have his silly zoomie and play times too.
Banjo also loves food and can be a bit cheeky in helping himself to benchtop treasures – he also knows dinnertime and children make for some delicious sneaky treats under the table.
He accepts treats so very gently.
He sleeps well on his bed but would readily sneak on sofas or human beds given half a chance.
Banjo is a quiet boy and will not bark unless there is reason to.
He sadly is not cat friendly so a home with cats would not work.
He has enjoyed the company of other dogs but honestly people are his thing.
If ever a dog was made for a young family or to be someones best friend and sidekick, its Banjo.
Whoever hurt and lost him has sent a total diamond for his new owner – love and patience is all you need.
Banjo is desexed, vaccinated to date, microchipped and up to date with his flea and worm treatments.
He is in foster care in Brisbane and his adoption fee is $575.
If you think you could be a perfect match for this special boy, please send us a message telling us all about yourself and the amazing life you would share together.
We do only select the best matches on paper for meets so please do not be afraid to sell yourself.
