About Nala
Hi! I'm Nala and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR NALA
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/7TyW8ya46TDtHp5r8
NOTE: You are unable to meet Nala until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Nala in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate who is gentle and calm may be okay as I'm not a fan of boisterous dogs.
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• I have never interacted with another dog before coming into the shelter so I can be unsure of how to behave around and with them! I will require a lot of positive socialization with other dogs so that I learn that having a doggie friend is a good thing.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of love and attention
TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok
My best features:
• Happy to hang out with other dogs
• I can sit.
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I know my basic doggie commands
• Happy to hang out with other dogs
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• Well mannered
• Love to snooze on the couch
Where I need to improve / Training required
• Unsure in new situations - more socialising is needed
• I've only just learnt to walk on the lead since being at the shelter so I'm still a bit erratic but lots of walks will help me learn how to be great on the lead.
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
• I can sometimes initially be shy and try to avoid things going over my head (lead etc). It doesn't take long for me warm up and my excitable & full of life nature to come out.
