About Tonka
He is almost completely blind and deaf, and also has some mild arthritis. On top of this he has a permanent head tilt. The vets have checked this out and don't feel it's neurological. He still has his balance and can turn in both directions. Tonka loves both human and canine companionship. When he knows you're there, his tail wags and he is quite animated. He then relies on the human or another dog to guide him, although once he's worked out the "lay of the land" he can get around on his own. Tonka will need eye drops from the chemist for the remainder of his life so that his eyes stay moist. He will also require a low set home where the humans are around most of the time people that are retired, or run their business from home, another dog for company and guidance would be a bonus, but on his own he would be ok . All vet work is complete and is now toilet trained. Tonka has tested negative for heartworm and his bloods show he is in good health.
Tonka is not a dog you take for a walk on lead...he is a dog that will be a companion and sit next to you on the couch, walks may consist of Tonka in a pram smelling the fresh air, he only needs the quiet live with the love of a family and lots and lots of love
Please know we look for a very special home for this very special boy...please head to the Pugs SOS WEBSITE and fill in an enquiry form and mention Tonka with as much info as you can provide
